Mica L. Anders is a professional genealogist, researcher, lecturer, and oral historian based in Minnesota. Her special interests include African-American genealogy and families from Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, and Nebraska. Ms. Anders has worked with private clients from around the United States, Canada, Jamaica, and the United Kingdom. She has also worked with organizations in and around the state of Minnesota such as the Minnesota Historical Society, History Center of Olmstead County, Hennepin County Libraries, Northwest Regional Library, and the City of Waterloo (Iowa). Ms. Anders holds an MFA degree in studio art. This unique combination of skills has given her the opportunity to combine her two passions—African-American history and art—to research, design, and curate exhibitions representing community histories for museums and civic organizations.
