History Fellowship Announced!
The Minnesota African American Heritage Museum and Gallery (MAAHMG) is accepting applications for its newly created History Fellowship program. In its first year, one individual will be selected to spend a 9-month fellowship with the museum to research, write, design, create and install a history exhibition focusing on the subject matter of their choice on African American history in Minnesota. The completed work will be presented in an exhibition at the museum. The Fellow will also plan and participate in at least one community engagement event at the museum. Applications will be reviewed by a panel who will select the individual for the position. This Fellowship is designed to provide experience and opportunities to Blacks, who are underrepresented in careers at museums and in the museum field. A stipend of $10,000 will be paid to the selected Fellow that will be used for research, writing, design and other activities or items necessary to curate a history exhibition and community event at the museum. Funding for the Black History Fellowship program is provided by a grant from the Transformative Black-Led Movement Fund by Nexus Community Partners and Black Visions Collective.
